I am currently on my 3rd and final year at Lincoln University on a BSc (hons) Web Technology. For my final year project I am building a PHP and MySQL e-commerce system that will be used by Nzime Design Consultants for the new Golddigga online store, all going to plan. This is currently my biggest challenge to date as it will be built from scratch and it is delving into areas that I haven't yet touched. But there's a first time for everything and I haven't had a challenge yet that's beaten me.
For my dissertation I am going to be studying Accessibility on the web, focusing on small to medium enterprises and how they ensure they cater (or in some cases don't) for people with disabilities or people who just find using a computer hard. It will be interesting to see where my findings take me and I will no doubt publish this online when I have finished.
Web development/design is something I have been into for about 7 years now recently peaking in the development side of things using mainly PHP/MySQL. I am also very strong with xHTML, CSS, Web Standards and Accessibility. Other areas that I also work with are Java Script (AJAX), minor server management, database design and information architecture.
Photography is one of my hobbies that I have been playing about with for the past 2/3 years. I currently have a Fujifilm S9500 that has done me well over the past year. I will eventually look into the Cannon DSLR range when I can justify investing in better equipment. Along with photography I am a very competent photoshop user, using the power of the program to improve and edit photos/images that I take.
